The Australian National University’s School of Music Keyboard Institute
extends a warm welcome to all keyboard scholars, teachers and students to attend
the 8th Australasian Piano Pedagogy Conference in 2007.
The theme of the conference is ‘Focus on Excellence – Questions
and Answers’. This conference will offer a truly unique experience for
participants in not only the program content but also the evening recitals and
social activities in locations throughout The Australian National University
and more broadly in the nation’s capital.
The Keyboard Institute was launched in 2005 with the aim of stimulating an interest
in, and concern for all aspects of keyboard; best practice in pedagogy, performance,
historical performance practice and research. Together with the School of Music,
the School of Art, and the Street Theatre, the Keyboard Institute forms a hub
of cultural activity in Canberra’s City West Arts Precinct.
I invite you to join us at the 8th Australasian Piano Pedagogy Conference to
discover and rediscover keyboard through the enormous range of workshops, master
classes, guest speakers and recitals that the conference has to offer.
